Frequently Asked Questions
What is Ready to Burn certification?
Ready to Burn is the UK's official certification for firewood and solid fuels with a moisture content of 20% or below. All our kiln dried logs carry the Ready to Burn mark, which means they are approved for sale in England under the government's air quality regulations and ready to burn straight away with no drying time needed. Choosing Ready to Burn certified logs means a cleaner, more efficient fire with less smoke, less tar build up in your chimney and more heat from every log.

Nice wood, but the pieces are far too big
Review by
I de Kuiper
I’ve ordered wood from them several times now; it’s nice and dry, the driver arrives on time and places the pallet where agreed.
It’s a shame there are so many pieces of wood that are far too big!
This is a reason why, after many years, I might start looking for a different supplier

Overall, a good experience

This is the second time we’ve ordered. It offers excellent value for money; the wood is really well dried and ready to use straight away. It burns brilliantly and helps maintain a pleasant indoor climate. Some of the logs are quite thick for our liking, despite being the right length; we therefore split about 30 per cent of them by hand. Delivery on a pallet is practical and convenient.
Good quality wood, burns very well, bone-dry, no detectable residual moisture

experience with the birch wood supplied
Review by
Kees vissers
The driver delivered it perfectly, was polite and dropped it off at the requested location. However, the wood delivery contains far too much wood that needs to be split further. I’m not happy about that. Some pieces don’t even fit in the wood splitter. The diameter of the wood is very often more than 8–15 cm. It’s a shame and something to bear in mind for next time.

Attractive pallet, good quality
Review by
Rick
They called a good 30 minutes in advance to say the driver was almost there. When the delivery arrived, the pallet wouldn’t fit through the door, but the driver was given a hand and they managed to get it in in the end. The pallet looks great, with a mix of large and small pieces.
It looks nice, burns well and doesn’t crackle much.
The neighbours keep asking for pieces of wood.

The wood is very attractive and dry.
Some of the blocks are a bit on the large side (but that’s not a major issue).
